Homemade Doughnuts

Yesterday I said that "Baked Sprinkle Doughnuts" from Chloe's Kitchen (my new cookbook) were next on my list to make.  Well, here they are!  They were a success!

They are so good, I woke my husband up to try one!  I used Chloe's "Old Fashioned Glaze" recipe and decided they didn't need sprinkles.  I would say their consistency is between Krispy Kreme and Dunkin' Donuts.  Krispy Kreme doughnuts are really light and dissolve in your mouth.  Dunkin' Donuts are heavier and cakey.  These are right in the middle!  And the freshly ground nutmeg made them soooo good!

I like knowing that my doughnuts are free of animal products and are not fatty and deep-fried.  And of course, they're made with love! :)

Chloe's Kitchen by: Chloe Coscarelli

Hi Everyone! I'm excited about two things today...my new Chef Chloe cookbook and my doughnut pan!

You can also follow Chloe's facebook page!
If you're not familiar with Chef Chloe Coscarelli, she won the show "Cupcake Wars" with her vegan cupcake.  I've been following her blog and recipes online at chefchloe.com. Her very first cookbook came out this month!  I was so excited when it arrived at my door!  It is full of beautiful and inspiring pictures. Her recipes are all vegan (plant-based, no animal products) and easy to make.  Last night, my husband and I made her "Tomato-Basil Bisque"  and "Artichoke-Walnut Pesto Crostini."  They were so delicious...much better than eating at any restaurant! Look at the fresh parsley and toasted walnuts that went into my food processor for the Artichoke-Walnut Pesto!

Next on my list to make from "Chloe's Kitchen"...Baked Sprinkled Donuts! Stay tuned.

P.S. Let me know if you try any of her recipes!

Gud Things Happen

Have you seen these beautiful bottles popping up in stores lately? gud products are made by Burt's Bees with more of a scent-focus.  Burt's Bees products typically have a very mild scent, if any.  If you like the fruity, flowery scents that you get at Bath and Body Works, you should try these!  They are paraben, pthalates, and petrochemical-free!

These products come in four scents: Floral Cherrynova, Orange Petalooza, Vanilla Flame, and Pearanormal Activity (sold exclusively at Target).

I am currently using the Pearanormal Activity conditioner, body lotion, and body mist.  It smells like a delicious juicy pear, and the scent lasts all day!

Now is a great time to try them because Target has $1.00 off coupons on their website!

You can also "like" the gud facebook page for free samples and coupons. Who doesn't love free samples??

Hoping good things happen wherever you go!
