Vegan French Toast

Last night I had breakfast for dinner, and the best part about it was that my husband made it!  We were a little late having dinner, so this was quick and easy...french toast!

This french toast is completely free of animal products (eggs, milk, butter) and is just as delicious!  I love the crispy edges!

You could also cut the slices into strips for french toast sticks.  Kids love dipping them in syrup!

I poured this maple agave syrup blend on top. It's my absolute favorite! I buy it at Trader Joe's and it's gluten free.

Vegan French Toast

1 cup almond milk (you could use soy, rice, or oat milk)
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Canola oil for the pan
6 slices of whole wheat sandwich bread

Whisk together the almond milk and flour in a shallow dish.

Whisk in the cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla.

Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of oil.
You can add more oil as needed, but you don't want the bread to get too soggy.

Dunk each slice of bread into the almond milk mixture, and then place in your hot skillet.

Cook the bread for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.

Play a little Edith Piaf while you're eating it, and you'll feel so French! ;)
